LEAP Signs Agreement with ABI/MDS SCIEX
LEAP Technologies announced a reseller's agreement with Applied Biosystems Group, NYSE:ABI, an Applera Corporation business, together with its joint venture partner MDS Sciex, a division of MDS Inc. (NYSE:MDZ, TSX:MDS),. This agreement allows Applied Biosystems to sell LEAP's PAL robotic sample handler system and LEAP's system customization, installation, and service solutions, in combination with Applied Biosystems/MDS SCIEX LC/MS (liquid chromatography/mass spectrometry) products. The PAL system is manufactured by CTC Analytics in Switzerland.
"With a formal agreement in place, Applied Biosystems/MDS SCIEX and LEAP Technologies will be able to offer customers more complete and customizable products for small molecule, high throughput analysis", said Werner Martin, President of LEAP. "Customers can be assured that Applied Biosystems/MDS SCIEX and LEAP Technologies have worked together to be able to offer integrated LC/MS solutions".
LEAP customizes the PAL robotic sample handler to be more than an autosampler. LEAP's customization gives end-users higher throughput, lower carry-over and purer samples than a standard autosampler by integrating its own accessory modules such as valve self wash, staggered LC injection valving system or solid phase extraction just-in-time module.
In addition to the reseller's agreement, LEAP has also launched its LEAP Shell software, which synchronizes methods for the PAL sample system, Applied Biosystems/MDS SCIEX mass spectrometers, and a variety of third party liquid chromatography pumps, for each sample in a sample list. LEAP Shell software enables the full functionality of Analyst® Software for acquisition and processing of data from Applied Biosystems/MDS SCIEX mass spectrometers.
