L-Mark Syringe™ for the LC-MS CTC PAL Autosampler

Laboratory analytics has a growing demand for better liquid handling especially where automation of sample prep and loading is a must-have. These demands can include the need for a practical, durable and easy to use syringe system. Furthermore high levels of sample “carry-over” are unacceptable in most laboratory settings. The L-Marks™ for LC-MS are now available with a special needle surface treatment which makes them the best for carry-over abatement!

LEAP recognizes these demands and resolved issues of durability and carry-over to compliment the PAL robotic sample handler with a new syringe design. The L-Mark™ was created in 2003 and has been developed as a complete line of syringes that mitigate many of the problems associated with high throughput automated systems based on the CTC PAL. A list of “Specialty Syringes” is also growing.

This syringe was the first of its kind designed with a plunger guide and two different plunger materials to help match the plunger life needed by many high throughput labs that run thousands of samples overnight. The L-Marks are manufactured with Duran glass and titanium plungers for added longevity. The needle is seated in the glass barrel in such a way that the adhesive has no exposure to the samples handeled.

Our intent was to design a syringe that has over four times the durability of others. We believe the goal was accomplished.

LEAP also recognizes that lab scientist can only enjoy these unique features if the syringe is available. Therefore LEAP established a policy of same day shipping for most syringes. If an order of ten syringes or less are ordered, LEAP ships the same day. We can also establish other creative inventory management eg “zero” inventory programs to fit any lab’s needs.
